It’s called Lokal (low-kay) and it officially opens on Saturday, Nov. 27, in the Mount District near Leah & Louise and Babe & Butcher.
Why it matters: Lokal was started by hygge coworking founder Garrett Tichy and director of marketing Alyssa Pressler. It will be a middle ground for local vendors and businesses that have outgrown their current spaces but aren’t quite ready to make the jump to a full brick-and-mortar storefront.
“I can’t wait to encourage people to shop local brands and meet some of the incredible people that I’ve gotten to meet,” Pressler tells Axios.
What to expect: The collective will feature a variety of local brands selling apparel, accessories and other hand-crafted goods.
The current vendor list includes:
- That’s Novel Books
- Scarf & Blazer
- Bigfoot Kick
- Feminist Goods Co
- Limoncito Goods
- Mossick & Co
- Party Perfected
- Analogue Luxury
- Quad Espresso Jewelry
- LUSH Boutique
By the end of November, Lokal hopes to have 25 total vendors, so more shops will be announced in the coming weeks.
Location/hours: Lokal’s exact location is 330 Camp Road. The hours are Wednesday and Thursday 12pm to 7pm; Friday 12pm to 8pm; Saturday 11am to 7pm; and Sunday 11am to 5pm.
