Sustain Charlotte: “How Will Charlotte Grow?: Understanding New Development Rules”
Join us at Camp North End on Thursday, June 29th at 6pm for a short presentation by city planning staff to learn about the projects and development areas that the newly implemented Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) covers and how this will impact YOU.
This free event will explore how you can actively participate in the process of mapping how neighborhoods will grow and where the city government should focus resources!
The Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) is a set of city rules that align Charlotte’s growth with our community’s goals. The UDO was implemented on June 1. What does that mean for the average resident? How can you actively participate in the process of mapping how neighborhoods will grow and where the city government should focus resources?
Join us beginning at 6:00 for light fare and social time. From 6:30-7:30 p.m., we’ll have a short presentation by city planning staff about the projects and development areas the UDO covers, followed by a moderated panel discussion between community leaders and advocates. This free event includes time for audience questions and comments and an opportunity to meet fellow Charlotte-area residents who care about the future of our city.
Location: This event will be held at Camp North End. We don’t yet know which building within the venue we’ll be in, but this listing will be updated as soon as that information is available. All registered attendees will also receive an email with the updated building location. We’ll have Sustain Charlotte signs pointing the way. The venue can be reached by CATS bus route 22 (N Graham St) and 21 (Statesville Ave).
While we won’t have childcare available, you’re welcome to bring your kids and supervise them.
Accessibility: We want this event to be welcoming and accessible for everyone. If you require accommodations to be able to fully participate, please contact Meg at firstname.lastname@example.org
